We provide a low cost, accessible platform to allow Island traffic to stay local and for global networks to be accessible at a fixed membership and port fee.
Join us todayFounded by BlueWave Communications CEO, Professor Adam Beaumont, ManxIX is the first and only internet exchange on the Isle of Man to enable networks, content providers and businesses to exchange internet traffic through a fully independent, not-for-profit peering point.
The aim of ManxIX is to help its members increase network resilience, reduce latency and decrease overall traffic backhaul costs toward London.
ManxIX raises awareness of the purpose and importance of a solid internet exchange infrastructure on the Isle of Man. It brings value to the Island by promoting co-operation between network operators, improving the quality of local traffic and attracting national and international companies in need of interconnection capability on the Isle of Man.
Based in BlueWave’s Carrier Neutral site in Douglas, the internet exchange also offers a choice of interconnect at 1Gb/s and 10Gb/s for the purposes of peering with other member organisations.
Professor Adam Beaumont also successfully co-founded IXLeeds in September 2010 in order to facilitate public peering in the North of the UK.

To become connected to the ManxIX exchange, you need to be a Licensed Operator and to hold an Autonomous Systems (AS) number assigned by a Regional Internet Registrar.
Fees are currently 1000 GBP per annum for membership, and 1000 GBP per annum per 10GB/s port.
Port fees are the same for a 1 gigabit or 10 gigabit service, but obviously we’d prefer you to take 10.
